40th Annual Idaho Watercolor Society Capitol Rotunda Show

Please note that as of 1.25.24 we have reached our 75 painting limit. Please don’t be discouraged though, it is not unusual for spots to open up at the last minute when other artists’s situations change! I encourage you to register and be added to the wait list. If a spot does not open up and you don’t display your painting in this exhibition you will be refunded your entry fee in full! Artists’ Reception - Saturday, March 9, 2024 - 11am - 2pm

This is the first year that the Idaho Watercolor Society is using the “ArtCall” online software for the Capitol Rotunda Show. We hope it will make submission and payment much easier for everyone! Please know that unlike years past you will NOT need to send anything through the postal service, all payment and entry submission will be handled through this ArtCall website.

Entry Details:

• $10 Entry Fee 
• Only one entry per artist
• Artwork must be an original painting that is suitable for family viewing.
• Maximum outside width dimension 32” (including frame)
• Artwork may be framed under PLEXIGLASS (Sorry, glass is not permitted per the Idaho State Capitol Building guidelines) or varnished. ALL paintings must be framed in a professional manner with hanging wire only (no sawtooth hangers).
• Entry must be primarily watercolor/gouache. Any other medium may be included but watercolor/gouache must constitute 80% or more.
• Any substrate may be used.
• This show is NOT juried. Entries are taken on first- come basis. Deadline to enter is Feb. 19, 2024 or until the 75 painting limit is reached.
• Associate Members are eligible to display in this show.

Shipping Details:

• SHIP TO: Bonnie J Liles, 3850 W. Hill Road, Boise, Idaho, 83703 - Please do not use foam pellets of any size as packaging.
• Arrangements will be made with individual artists who have shipped their paintings to cover the expense of returning artwork (See more details in acceptance letter). 
• Shipped entries must arrive no later than February 19, 2024.

Show Schedule:

• All local entries are to be delivered to the 4th Floor Rotunda in the Idaho State Capitol Building (700 West Jefferson Street) on Saturday, March 2, 2024 between 11am -1pm. The show will officially open to the public at 2pm.
• An Artists’ Reception will be hosted in the Rotunda on Saturday, March 9th (11am - 2pm). 
• Paintings must be picked up at the 4th Floor Rotunda in the Idaho State Capitol Building (700 West Jefferson Street) on Saturday – March 16, 2024 between 10am – 11am. Shipped paintings will be returned by mail.

Additional Details:

• By entering your artwork, you are accepting all IWS show conditions.
• Work must be in compliance with show guidelines or it will not be hung.
• All care will be taken to avoid damage to artwork, but IWS cannot be held liable for damage or loss. 
• If a sale is made, a 15% donation is suggested to Idaho Watercolor Society.
